Somehow work and life always get in the way of me posting lol : ) Sorry for the delay in finishing up my blogs about Thailand. Here is the final post . . .

After spending an afternoon on Railay Beach we decided to take an all day tour of the surrounding islands and beaches by speedboat with a group through our hotel. Since we didn’t have a lot of time in Krabi this was a great way to see the area quickly. It was a day of beach hopping, sunbathing, and snorkeling – and the perfect way to spend Scott’s birthday!

After snorkeling we did a quick stop on Monkey Island – aparantly the monkeys can be pretty vicious so we only got close with the boat.

Then it was off to the main Phi Phi Island for lunch and more swimming!

Our next stop was Maya Beach where the film “The Beach” takes place. We had never heard of this movie until visiting Thailand, its with Leonardo DiCaprio. We watched it when we got home – its alright – kind of a distopian movie. The irony is that the movie is about a beach that is hidden from any tourists, but in real life this beach is a tourist destination! But regardless, Maya Beach was amazing!!

DSCN6026As we were heading back to the dock it started to thunderstorm. Thankfully we made it back safely and the storm held off until our trip was over! We then ventured over to our hotel where we set up a couple’s Thai massage : )

Thai massage focuses on pressure points to release tension and increase circulation. I have also heard it referred to as yoga for the lazy which isn’t too far off either. So after a truly relaxing evening it was time for a birthday dinner by the beach –

With a great end to Scott’s birthday we were sad to wake the next day and have to pack. We totally fell in love with Thailand and would go back in a heartbeat. Saying goodbye to Thailand was not easy – extremely friendly people, excellent food, rich culture, and diverse terrain.
