First of all I have to say that my mom and brother made is safely to our home and I couldn’t be more excited!! It is so great to have them in our home and to be able to show them our life here. But more on that later – back to Pokhara:

Our first day in Pokhara we decided to hike to the top of the mountain to see the World Peace Pagoda. Along the way we met a guy named Jon from France. He had been in Pokhara before and was heading towards the Peace Pagoda as well so we joined up with him.

Did you notice the wild poinsettias in the corner?! It was perfect to make it feel a little more like the Christmas season

We grabbed some lunch with Jon at this great local place that he loves. The Nepali food was excellent! More about that later. After some more resting and relaxing after our four hour hike we decided to eat at this really cute restaurant we found called Newari . . .

So after a day of hiking in Pokhara we decided the next day, thanks to Jon’s advice, to rent some bikes and explore the outskirts of Pokhara. Breakfast in the Himalayas:
