This past weekend was a four day weekend. Instead of going somewhere – like we have for most weekends so far – we decided to stay in Al Ain and just relax, catch up on sleep, and go to some parks. The four day weekend was in celebration of the UAE’s national day. This year they celebrate 41 years of being a country! It’s exciting being in a country that is still so young.

On Saturday we ventured to the Al Ain Oasis. We walked along the winding stone paths and admired all of the many palm tress.

On Sunday, National Day, we decided to grab some subs and head over to our favorite park in the whole city – Jahli park. It’s a beautiful little park with fountains and gardens. It sits right in the shadow of Jahli fort. There is also a starbucks just outside of the park that has an open roof top for sitting and enjoying the greenery and nice weather. When we need a moment to relax, we go to Jahli park, grab a coffee, and walk around – letting nature calm our minds.
