So we found out which schools we will be teaching in. Still unsure of the grade level but I will be at Nahel School for girls and Scott will be at Al Bedaa School for boys. Both of our schools contain grades 1-12 and even though they are in Al Ain they are considered rural. Thankfully Scott’s school is only five minutes from mine but, as you can see from the map below, our house is an hour from our school:
In this map you can see that Abu Dhabi is all the way to the left in the Arabian Gulf and is an hour and a half from Al Ain which is all the way to the right near the grey border with Oman. The letter A is where our apartment is and the letter B is where our schools will be. So each morning Scott and I will drive an hour into the middle of the desert to teach – talk about an adventure! My school does not have a website but Scott’s school does. As you can see in the website, our schools are in the desert and the sand dunes are plentiful! We will also be near the Camel Racing track so after school we can go watch the camels – lol! We tried to look at pictures posted to the google maps and they all included sand dunes! I don’t know whether to be super excited or super nervous! One day at a time and, Inshallah, we will love our new school and our new home . . .
